Gee James, why so gloom this morning? There is nothing gloom, or doom, about this
passage, from the book of John. Would it have been better if I had of did it
this way? I have chosen you out of the world.
This is what I wanted you to focus on. This is the first bite, from that
filet mignon, expertly grilled to perfection!!
Have you ever taken the time to allow, that statement to
percolate, in your Spirit? Your Spirit
accepts it well, as the truth. Your Spirit knows that you have not been called
to take this opportunity. Your Spirit knows that you are royalty, because the
King of all creation has chosen you to greatness!!
You might be thinking this question; Are you sure, and how do
you know, because it doesn’t feel this way? John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide
you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall
hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
The reason that it didn’t feel that way is simple. You didn’t
even allow that one little great thing, which Jesus said about you, to even
reach your Spirit!! Something happens when we hear something, that sounds too
good to be true. We have been trained to allow it to hit warp-speed, and shoot
out the other ear!!
Have you seen the movie, “The Matrix?” There is a scene where
Morpheus is on a really high roof, and talking with Neo. He tells Neo that he
needs to free his mind, and then he jumps to the rooftop, crossed four lanes of
road.
JAMES!!! How dare you use
a worldly movie, and compare it to the things of God!! OK, OK, OK, ….Slow your roll Pharisee!! I
believe that this is the way that Jesus expects us to walk on this planet. He
just told us, not many words ago, that we would be hated!! He has given us a
suit of armour to wear, and not just any suit of armour will work. It must be
the Armor of God. Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may
be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
We have been chosen to be mighty warriors!! To even get close to
doing this we do have to free our minds. 2Corinthians
10:5 Casting down
imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge
of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
I don’t know about you, but this verse is telling me to free my
mind. I have a lot of imaginations in my mind. I could simply sit, and
daydream, for hours on end. Most of the time in my thought I am exalted, and
that is pure sin, which leads back to pride. Pride was the sin that got Lucifer
kicked out of Heaven. Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou
wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Paul warns us not
to thing of ourselves in this way. Romans
12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to
every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he
ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man
the measure of faith.
Often times we think that we have been called to enter into
Heaven, and spend eternity floating on a cloud, while playing a harp. Boring!! Do you realize what is wrong with that line
of thinking? It’s the terminology. We
are not called. Matthew 22:14 For many are
called, but few are chosen. There it is again. Several times while Jesus is speaking He
reaffirms that statement.
What have we been actually chosen for, or to do? Once again,
Jesus clears that up well in the book of John. John
15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you,
and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your
fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he
may give it you.
Do you ever feel that the Word is non-stop, never ending? The
deeper that you dig, the more that is revealed. New words like ordained, and
fruit, followed by yet, another promise. Really, it is awesomely amazing!!
Jeremiah
29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward
you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an
expected end.
Ain’t God good?
…..Much Love
