Aren’t
you glad that our Jesus never changes? We go through so many
changes, in the course of our lifetime, that it is good to have
something stable, in which to hold on. King David rightfully called
the God of our Salvation My Rock. This one verse tells my complete
story.
Psalms
40:2 He
brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and
set my feet upon a rock, and
established my goings.
It
was like the Israelites crossing the Red Sea, they crossed on dry
land, and I was set on the rock, with mud free shoes!! I got the
opportunity for a fresh, clean start, in a new and entirely different
direction. Have you ever been caught in miry clay? The first thing
that happens is that you lose whatever shoes, that you may be
wearing. If you are real lucky you might be able to retrieve them,
but that mire, and much forms a seal on then, that will drag them
from your feet.
Then
you become the laughing stock, of all those that are with you. Any
self-respecting country boy has been guilty, of having this happen at
least once in their lifetime. Every time that it happens though,
everyone will act like it is the first time that, it has ever
happened. Oh, the camaraderie, of the boys, who play in the mud!!
Did
you notice that it said, brought me up out of an horrible pit? It
is strange how we are just happy-go-luckily doing the backstroke, in
this horrible pit. We don’t have a care in the world, simply
enjoying our daily swim in the sin of our lives, and then something
happens. Holy Spirit shows up on the scene, and takes the blinders
from our eyes. We can see the death, and decadence that surrounds us
and it is all of our own making.
This
can be one of the greatest blessings in our lives, but only if we
take the next right step. We only have two choices to make, and the
right one is to accept, the sin offering that, Jesus made for us.
This is really a no brainer decision to make, however there can be a
couple things standing in our way. Satan will throw everything at you
to keep you, from seeking Jesus, at this time. His most famous line,
and honestly the one that will generally work, on most people, is the
not right now option.
He
will even tell you that coming to Jesus is a good thing, for us to
do. There is no hurry though, because Jesus will wait for us to move.
Jesus is not in a hurry to accept us. He just wants us to make the
decision eventually. Satan knows if he can cause us to wait while
Holy Spirit is dealing directly with us, that it is another victory
for him.
Satan
will talk with us, and plead with us, and he acts like he is our best
friend. There is nothing good within him, and the truth is that he
hates all human beings. He knows that we are Father’s greatest
creation, and he knows how much that Father loves us. Father loves us
so much that, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to redeem us back to the
Father. (John 3:16)
The
truth is that our Creator, Father God, created us, and everything
that we will ever know. Seeing how Father created everything, He also
made the rules that, we should live by. The reason I say should live
by is because, we often times think that, we are above God, and don’t
care for the way that, He says things are going to be. It don’t
really matter how we act toward God, because any rebellion is a death
sentence. Father loves us with a love, which no human being can
understand, because it is too deep, for our finite mind to
comprehend.
If
we can simply get past the deception of Satan, and get over our
prideful self, and accept the work of the cross, and Jesus death on
the cross in our place, everything changes. We are adopted into the
only Royal Family that there ever was, and will ever be. I can’t
really tell you what all that really details. I can say that we will
have a new home, in a place that makes what we call a paradise sick.
1Corinthians
2:9 But
as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have
entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for
them that love him.
We
will have to wait, and see what is really is store for us, and the
Children of the only true God. The Word of God doesn’t really focus
much on what Heaven will be like. It does focus more, on the
relationship that we should have with God, and those who are around
us. Most folks get all confused when they hear about eternal life,
and think that starts, when they get to Heaven. The truth is that
eternal life starts the minute, that we accept Jesus, into our hearts
and lives. The location of our body has nothing to do with eternal
life. Our soul is a different story, and has everything to do with
our having eternal life.
There
is a formula that I like to use often and it a true formula, for a
successful relationship with the Father. It goes like this; (Jesus +
nothing = Everything & Jesus + anything = nothing) We don’t
need anything except Jesus to gain everything. If we try to add
anything with Jesus, we have nothing, because Jesus stands alone.
There is nothing that He requires to give us eternal life. There is
nothing that He requires to redeem us back to the Father, and restore
our relationship with Father.
There
is one thing that, Jesus requires to do anything, in our lives. That
one thing and, the only thing that is holding Him back, is our
consent, to come on into our heart, and set up house. Jesus is a
gentleman, and will not violate our free will, even to save us from
Hell!! Ain’t Jesus Awesome?
….Much
Love
