Getting back to
the end of the second chapter of the book of Acts. The Word states
that the three thousand that got converted that day, stayed with the
Apostles doctrine. They enjoyed each others company with fellowship,
and eating, of their meals together. They prayed together, and
witnessed the Apostles, doing many wonders. They had a reverential
fear, of the things, that they were seeing.
All that believed
were together, and had all things, in common. That is a very strong
statement to make but, the Word backs it up. It says, that they sold
all their possessions, and divided it up between all that had a need
for money. They were like minded. Going from, house to house to
fellowship, while eating meals together, and praying together.
They found favor
with all people, because of their unity together. We simply can't
live the life, that the Lord requires us to live, and have much,
strife with people. Some people don't care anything about God.
However, they will usually, respect the man of God, for living a
clean life. God has called us every one, to live a life as clean and,
peaceable as we possibly can live.
The awesome point
is that somebody, is always watching us. They see when we hit our
thumb, with a hammer. It totally amazes them, when we don't cuss,
while we are doing, our dance of pain. That is, if we don't cuss. We
have the capability to draw others to Christ, simply by them
observing our actions, and how we handle things.
It don't matter
how big a Christian, that you think that you are, nor how religious,
that you think that you are. There will always be the right situation
pop up, that will make you act in a way, that is not very Christian
like!!
I kind of got off
track a bit but, I believe that it needed to be said.
These were
really good times, in the lives, of the disciples. There was peace
among the men, and the fellowship was intact. The disciples must have
been feeling excellent, about the way, that God was using them. The
power of God, was running through their lives, thanks to Holy Spirit.
As we start in
chapter three, we find Peter, and John heading into the temple, to
pray about the ninth hour. There is a crippled man, who is laid at
the gates of the temple daily. He was born crippled, and has no way
to support himself other than begging. When the man saw Peter, and
John heading into the temple, he ask if they could help him out.
Then Peter began
to stare at the man intently, and commanded the man, to look back
upon himself. The man thought that he was going to give him some
money, or something to eat, as he stared back into Peters eyes. Peter
boldly stated, that he did not have anything of monetary value, but
what he did have, that he would gladly give it to this man.
Peter said to this
crippled man, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, arise and
walk!! I am going to put myself in this beggars place. I would have
hung my head, a little lower than it normally would hang, and start
to mumble. Blankety-Blank Blanks, @#%$$*!! That will really feed my
poor old, crippled #%* tonight!!
This man didn't
act like that at all. Peter took him by his right hand, and lifted
him up. The Word says that the strength came back into his feet, and
ankle bones!! This man leaped up, and walked into the temple with
Peter and John!! He was walking, and jumping and praising God so
much, that all of the ones that knew him, were filled with wonder and
amazement.
The way that this
guy acted on faith, it would seem that he had been waiting, on this
opportunity, for a long time. I don't believe that he gave it a
second thought, when Peter commanded him to walk, in Jesus name. I
can simply see him now, just leaping to his feet, and beginning to
dance the dance!! He was probably making, so loud of a praise, going
through the temple doors, that the Haters got upset.
This is the
awesome revelation that I got, from reading this story. This man was
born crippled. He has never taken a step. He may have drug himself
crossed the floor while alone. I can't imagine it being, more than
that much. Praise be to God our Father!! When He heals somebody, He
don't half-step!!
This man didn't
have to take months, to learn to balance himself. He didn't even have
to learn to walk, before he could run, and jump. He leaped up, and
started running, and jumping, at the command of the Word!!
Ain't Father good!!
.........Much Love
