This has been a
beautiful Resurrection Sunday, in Jacksonville Florida!! Hello to my
readers, and Jesus Christ still sits on the throne!! Church was so
packed today with people, in the second service. The first service
was about normal, or what I am used to seeing. Today Brother Gary
brought us a Easter service message out of the ordinary. It came
from the book of 1 Corinthians, chapter 15, verses 1-4.
He did a wonderful
job telling about the Roman guards. How they were devoted soldiers,
unto their country, and the leadership over them. They were well
trained, in all fields of service, which included torture. The Roman
army wasn't made up entirely of Romans. They had men from surrounding
countries that served. Men that truly hated the Jewish people. That
would make the suffering that Jesus endured more severe, than the
non-Jewish man, would have received.
The Roman guards
were also responsible, to make sure that their task at hand, had been
completed. They had to watch their mouth when making statements when
in public. Everything that they did had to be finished to completion,
and every word had to reflect that of the Roman Empire. If there was
any discrepancy’s at all, then the guilty party would be severely
punished!!
Every Roman
Centurion was in charge of one hundred Roman soldiers. He kept in
line one hundred different personalities, and the goal was on the
same tract. The Roman tract. The views from the top places in the
Roman Empire, always tricked down, to the lowest ranking office in
the guard.
When Jesus gave up
His Spirit on the cross, strange things started happening. There was
an earthquake to the point where rocks were rent or torn . The veil
in the temple was ripped from top to bottom. No human hands could
have done that, because of the construction of the veil. Graves burst
open, and the inhabitants were seen all over the area.
The most dramatic
scene was when the Centurion made this statement: This was truly the
Son of God!! I don't know exactly how loud that He said that
statement. However, I do know that it has become, well known around
the world now!! I have no idea what punishment that he received,
because of what that he said. It may have cost him his position, his
job, or even his life.
The Centurion had
a case of Revelation knowledge. He knew at that point, and time in
his life, that the man that they had just crucified, was indeed whom,
He said that He was. I personally believe that this man ask
forgiveness for his sins, realizing what had just happened. It would
be very interesting to hear his story. Finding out what happened
after his confession. How his life turned out. Maybe one day we will
sit together, and talk about what really happened.
Pastor brought out
the fact that when Jesus was resurrected, that He was saw by at least
514 people, before His ascension. That was a group of 500, and 14
others. He also made a point of all the disciples, suffering a
horrible death, with exception of John. Even John lived a tragic
life, but lived out his fullness of days.
Many people
believe that they life, death, and resurrection, of Jesus Christ, to
be a hoax. If that were true, then why did every disciple short of
John, give their lives, because of the Gospel? They all died, because
they refused, to deny that the story of Jesus was true. They all
died, at different times, in different ways, and in different regions
of the word.
Here is another
proof that He was real. He told His disciples that He must go, but
would send the comforter, in His place. I for one believe in the
Father, and in the Son, and in Holy Spirit. I know that they are
alive, and well inside of me. If you don't believe that Holy Spirit
exists, then come and worship at Evangel Temple, in any service. He
will be glad to introduce Himself to you!!
….......Much
Love
