Victory is not optional !!

This blog was always supposed to be about Jesus, and I really want that to remain true. My part of the story of Jesus has always been on the receiving end. Even though I might not be writing as much now, as I have in the past, it doesn’t make me any less needy. It certainly doesn’t make God show up any less. I am ashamed to say this but I have been pressing on Jesus really hard this year.

I have been under satanic attack, for most of the year, if not for all of it. I spent most of this year, in a battle with cancer. Everything that has the chance to go wrong surely has. Most of those that I thought were my friends, really couldn’t handle those changes in me, and have gone different ways. I stay so high, on the drugs for pain, which I simply want to be along most of the time. I am getting to the point that I really don’t like myself, because of the drugs. The problem is that without these drugs I don’t like myself or anybody else either!!

I had a friend that reminded me tonight that God isn’t one to play with!! That really hit home with me, because of here lately I have become wishy-washy with God. He also told me that, if I wanted a cure for my cancer, that I would have to get back doing ,what God has for me to do, and stop wallowing around, in my pity pot!!

This has been a true statement. Once the Doctor gives me the death sentence, I have gone through a range of emotions. I have tended to get stuck, on the fact that, most people simply don’t care, or if they only could understand. The truth of this matter is why should they understand? This is my time to shine the light of Jesus, on the inside of me, and I can’t do this from my pity pot. 

I have joined a wonderful church. It is small, and there will be a lot of opportunity for me to grow, in this church.  I have made contact with one of sisters, for the first time in several years. I have learned that she went through some serious trauma a couple years ago, and it almost cost her life. I wasn’t there for her, and I have not been there, for most things in life. The reason being is that I have been so selfish, for the most of my life. Most of my selfishness has been fear driven.

 I am tired, of living in defeat. God has promised all of His children many great things. The only reason that I don’t have them is because I have not apparently believed them, or pursued them. Here is a great promise that the Father has given the children.

Luke 12:32  Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Wow!!   How does that sound to you?  Our Father God has the most wonderful things planned, for His children. We will never find a better life to live than the one that our Father has planned for us now, and it gets better later on. 

I am so tired of living in defeat, when I have all the resources to live in victory. Jesus paid the price for me to spend all eternity, with the Father of all creation, in complete splendor and grace. His blood that He shed on the cross of Calvary is enough to please the Father for my sin. There is way too much wrong in my life right now, and it is all because of Satan.

John 10:10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

I have been a Christian for a few days now, and Satan continues to snag me into believing one, or several of his lies. His greatest tool is deception, and he is the master of deception. He has a few of his best well laid deceptive plans on my life.  How could he do this to me?

Genesis 3:1  Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?  

Am I ashamed that the devil has laid his deceptive ways on me?  Not really, and I am not ashamed, of the fact that I have fallen into his trap.

 1John 2:1  My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Jesus has done it all that we need to securely enter into the Kingdom of Heaven forever. He has paid the price for our sin, and He has already defeated Satan, Hell death, and the grave. My plan is to grab hold, of the hem of His garment, and dig the jewels out of the Word of God. That is where that they are hidden at, and if we don’t read the Word of God, it is like slapping the face of God, and refusing His awesome Help!!!

We are All Highly Blessed……

Good Morning children of God!!   Aren’t we a highly bunch of blessed folks?      I realize that I have lived in the United States, for my entire life, and have not suffered like some Christians have. The Apostle Paul spent a lot of time in dungeon prison cells, and our Father still placed a blessing on him, where he could write, sing, worship, and praise. You might be saying something like this; oh that was Paul, and he was different, than the rest of us.

You are right, because Paul was different. All the disciples were different. Every person, whom the Lord blessed, in the word of God, was different. In the same sense, they all had something strangely in common. They every one of them that, believed on the Lord, and accepted His way, as the only way of life. God approached each one of them, as He does, each one of us. The only difference was that they said yes, to our God. They said yes to his way of life.

We were all created different from one another. We all have different ways of looking at things, and the way that we receive things. Even as many differences, as there are in each one of us, we were all created with something in common with each other. There seems to be a hole in the center of our being, which only one item will fit in, and fill completely.  The truth is that our creator left that space inside of us, that only a relationship with Him could fill.

That is amazing that, our creator left out, the main ingredient, for true happiness, in our life. The only thing that will ever cause total fulfillment and peace, in our life is a relationship, with our Father of our creation. There is a problem with our Creator accepting us. He will not accept those that have sin, on their lives. The major problem is that, we are all guilty of having sin, in our lives.

Romans 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Isn’t there anything that we can do, to get back to the Father?       Yes there is, and it is as simple as a blood sacrifice.   There is a catch to this sacrifice. It has to pass through some tough requirements to meet the qualifications, of the Father. The first qualification is that is has to be willing to be a blood sacrifice. To be a blood sacrifice means that you will have to die in order to save those that are not worthy themselves. There is one more qualification, that the blood that is shed can’t be tainted with sin. It will take a willing, sinless, sacrifice to satisfy the Father, and bring us back into relationship with Him.

Now according to that Bible verse in the Book of Romans, chapter three, and verse twenty-three; no one can meet the requirements that the Father laid down. Father knew this was going to be a problem, and He already had a solution for our sin.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This is the best news that mankind can ever receive. We have a way out from the judgment of God. We don’t have to be found guilty, of the sin in our lives, even though we are guilty. For God so loved the world.   Do you realize the power in that statement?  It is simply much more than the Father giving His Son to die for us. I will let Jesus tell you the truth.

 John 10:30  I and my Father are one.   

Now that is fantastic!!    Don’t you realize that the same God that created us set the guidelines, for a relationship with Him? He set the stakes too high for us, to do it on our own, so He came down in the form of a man to give Himself, as the perfect sacrifice. There is so much about God that, you will only learn through a relationship with Him. There is more, so much more, that we will learn later on.

I want to show you something else about Jesus. We only learn about His adventure, on the earth, by reading the Word of God. It only tells a small amount, of the things that He did while on the earth. The apostle John wrote that, if all were to written about Jesus the world could not contain the books. To me that is saying that a lot of things wasn’t recorded of the works, and the wonders, which He did perform. There is one verse that I want to leave you with today. It sums up who Jesus is in one verse.

John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 

That says it all!!      Ain’t Jesus Awesome?

The Battle is Raging On!!

I really want to stay with my ongoing battle, and Spiritual Warfare fight, because I believe that it is very important to every Christian. Once we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we automatically become a target by default, because of Satan. As we grow in Christ, and in the power of Jesus, we become much more of threat to the kingdom of darkness.

This is the reason that, we have God’s armor given to us, in Ephesians 6. There was a long time that, I didn’t understand the importance, of applying this armor, on my Spirit man. I really don’t believe that God would give something, as important to be called His Armor, if He didn’t mean for us to use it. Let’s check out the way that Paul introduces us the Armor of God. 

Ephesians 6:10-11  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Can there be anything that, can my make us gain the strength of the Lord, and the power of His might?    If you paid attention to verse number eleven, it comes with a promise. If we put on the whole armor of God, not leaving any part off, we will be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. I am telling you folks, that I am needing all, of the power of God that I can get!! I don’t know why, all that is going on in my life right now, I only know that it is, and I need to be prepared with all of the power, of almighty God!!

There are several different prayers out there to put on amour of God. You can find one that suits you, or you can pray the one that I use, and will leave a copy, at the end of this post. I have been putting on the Armor of God, for a few months now, and I can tell you that Satan doesn’t like it one bit!! He has turned up the heat on heat of my life.

Romans 8:31  What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

There are several different things that, I am choosing to do to strengthen my walk, with the Lord. I need to be as pleasing as I can with Him. One of the things is that I am joining the fellowship of the Springfield Baptist Church. They are close to where I live, and have a small congregation, of fellow believers like I believe. The Pastor is a line upon line, and precept upon precept preacher, that is Holy Spirit lead.

Hebrews 10:25  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

I have been a member of another wonderful church, but I have problems with attendance, because it is on the west side of the city, and I live downtown now. I felt really comfortable, with the members, of my new church. This is just a personal observation, but it seems to me when I am in good standing with Jesus, that it makes others much easier to love, and them to love me!!

I don’t have a clue to how much life that, I left to live on this earth. Only God knows the amount of time, which I have left. Once you receive the sentence of death, it changes the way that one looks at the time that they have left to live. Being a Christian, my thoughts were on Jesus. I wanted to make sure that I was pleasing Him.            Don’t you know that is what, as Christians we should be doing anyway? 

We act like we are going to live forever. We don’t even consider the fact that; we could fall dead at any minute. Even though, I believe that my Salvation is secured, by the Holy Spirit, and that reason in found in the Bible, in the book of Ephesians. Yes, I am one of those that believe that once we are really saved, that our Salvation cannot be lost.

Ephesians1:13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Matthew 24:45-46  Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

I truly believe that any child, of the Most High God, would want his Master, to find him like this, on His return. I believe that I will suffer some embarrassing moments, when all is revealed, without that being one of them.    Ain’t God Good?

The Armor Of God Prayer

Each and every morning I urge you to pray on the literal Armor of God as listed in Ephesians 6. Take a moment and carefully consider the power, purpose and reality of each piece as you put it on. Whether you pray this prayer or a prayer like it, make it a daily routine that you take seriously.

"Lord, please help me this day to put on the Full Armor of God.

Help me put the Helmet, of Salvation, on my head that, I might always remember that, I am saved, and who I belong to, that my mind is guarded in Christ Jesus, and that I may have the mind of Christ, and that I may think the thoughts of Christ, and reject all others.

Help me put the Breastplate of Righteousness on, so that I may walk about in Righteousness, and others may see your Righteousness in me, and that my heart is guarded in Christ Jesus, and that I may have the desires of Christ, and reject all others.

Help me keep the Belt of Truth securely buckled on my waist, that I may always be secure, in the knowledge of the Truth, and always speak the Truth in love.

Help hold the Shield of Faith with which, to extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one, strengthen my arms and help me hold it high, that I may use it to protect myself, my family, my household, and those under my care, and help me use the Shield of Faith to press ahead, and push forward, for the kingdom of God.

And Lord, help me take up the Sword of The Spirit, which is the Word of God, and use it every day. Help me use it to protect myself and others, from the evil one through the power and authority of Your Word, and to strike the hearts and minds, of those who do not know You, calling them towards repentance and salvation. Help me use Your Word - the Sword of the Spirit - to cause those who know you, but are backslidden to repentance, obedience and service, and to help awaken those who know you, but are asleep, so they may obey and serve you, and please help me use your Word to bring, encouragement, strength and wisdom, to the Remnant of God, through your Word.

Help me serve you this and every day. Please use me Lord. These things I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ.
