Fill the waterpots

1John 1:8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

This is a radical statement made by the Apostle John. Actually, the books that John wrote after the Gospel of John contains the finger print of Jesus. Jesus was the most radical person to ever walk on the earth. You might ask the question “Why?”   Why was Jesus the most radical person? That is a really simple question to answer. It is because radical, and awesome is the most powerful adjectives, that I can come up to describe our God!!

Those of us that study the Bible realize that Father never shows up to perform a miracle, which we can do ourselves. Any time in the Old Testament that Father did anything it was a great and grand event. Exodus 14:21  And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

Now this was not the first event that Father was the Author of creating. There were many more written in the Old Testament. I would rather point out the radicalness of Jesus, because Father turned everything over to His Son Jesus. Matthew 28:18  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

The things that I point out about the miracles that Jesus performed are not in any certain order. Each one of them are awesome in their own right, and no human can copy them. However, I will start with the first miracles that Jesus did perform, at a wedding in Cana. They had run out of wine to drink, and Mary told Jesus about it.

Have you ever considered why Mary brought this to the attention of Jesus? This was His first miracle in public. Although Mary knew in her heart that Jesus could make a difference. She even spoke to the servants to do whatever that He told them to do. What was the reaction of Jesus? John 2:7  Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

In the book of John chapter nine there was a man that had been blind since his birth. The disciples ask the question of whose sin was responsible, for his blindness, his or his parents. (Generational curses) Jesus explained that neither was guilty, of his blindness. But the works of God should be manifest in him.

How did Jesus restore sight to this man? John 9:6  When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, Them Jesus told him to go wash his eyes out in the pool of Siloam. We are so germ phobic in today’s time, which we would not allow mud made, from Holy anointed spit, to even come near us.

How about the great fish dinner that feed over five thousand? They had come out to hear Jesus speak, and they had no food to eat. It was getting late in the day, and to buy food was a long way off. The disciples found a young boy with five loafs of bread, and two fishes.  How did Jesus perform this miracle?     The same way that it is performed every day, for those of us that believe.

Joh 6:11  And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the ddisciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. We still give thanks to the Father, in the name of His Son, for the goodness that He gives us.

I really need to share a story with you. I stopped in Daytona Beach for a while before I came to Jacksonville. There was a pavilion there in a park downtown. Every week there was a local church, which would show up to feed, and clothe those that would care to gather around them. They would pull up in several different cars, and start unloading the supplies.

All the boxes of clothes went to the side, and the food when on the tables underneath the pavilion. When they were set up to start dishing the food out, they was always a prayer said. Sometimes there would be more people in line to eat, than at other times. Often it would seem that there would not be enough food to go around.

I stayed down there for six months, and I never had known of them to run out before every one of us had their fill. They kept on feeding us until we were to full to eat another bite.
Once the crowd got finished eating, the Pastor of that church would give us the Word. A lot of folks wandered off when he started to preach, and he never said a word about it. The same church would come out on Sunday morning with hot coffee, and large bags of donuts.

I really admired this church for not holding people hostage. Most ministries will not feed you, unless you sit and listen to the preaching. I personally feel that this is the proper way, for a ministry to conduct the business, of soul winning. When dealing with the homeless, and less advantaged people, they have more needs than Spiritual. I believe that a persons Spiritual needs, are their greatest need. However I know that it is really hard to listen, when you are filled with hunger pangs.

Ain’t God good?

                  ….Much Love
