cartoon addiction

here in Jacksonville where i live is the second largest city in the u.s. it is by land mass, and not population. it was the largest for a long time, but some city in Alaska got larger.
you would think that we would have more competition between the major utilities companies, but we really don't have a choice. j.e.a. has all the power, and water locked up, and comcast has the cable.
after years of having comcast suck us completely dry with a 300.00$ a month cable bill we had to seek alternatives. i will say that 300, covered the cable, phone, and Internet, but that is still a large amount of money. especially for the quality of service that they offered. something was always loosing a signal.
we had to seek another way to have all these things that we had grown to expect in our daily lives. we wound up breaking down this one huge bill, to two smaller ones. clear wire handles out phone and Internet now for 55$ a month. now our phone has never went dead, and we only loose our Internet for brief times. the dish network has covered our cable needs for less than 80. the small dish effort has come a long way. used to be that every time it rained, or the wind blew, the small dishes lost their signal. it could be out for an undetermined amount of time. honestly, now every time it rains we do lose a signal, but only for five minutes, and only once per event.
the only thing i miss about comcast was there on demand feature. i could watch all kind of movies whenever i wanted to. i can't do this with the dish network. I've always loved to watch movies. mostly because on the premium channels there are no commercials. i hate commercials. on the dish network i rarely watch them anymore. i have a problem. i can't sit still long enough to watch them if i can't pause them.
I've got a new love for television now, and it's in cartoons. the Simpson's kids have been the same age for about twenty years now, and they never get old.
my favorite cartoon is called the family guy. i really think that it too racy for kids, but it is hilarious for adults. the whole family is dysfunctional in different ways.  peter griffin is the father, and he is mentally retarded. seriously, but he brings a new outlook to life, and what's really important in life. Lois is his wife is the sexy redhead. she was born into a rich family, and married peter. she really don't fit in this crowd, but sometimes the things she does makes her easier to believe. meg is their daughter, and she always wears a skull cap. she is a typical teenage girl caught up in this strange family with no hope of escape, and really doesn't want to. Chris is the long haired, dumpy looking teenage son that always wears a baseball cap. he is so funny. he really don't understand a lot about life, and his innocence is nothing less than charming.  stewie is probably the star of the show , and he is the baby with a head shaped like a football. it took me a while to figure this out, but when he talks were the only ones that can understand him. stewie is a mean, vile baby with serious issues. he wants to control the world, and has an arsenal of weapons hidden in his closet. his unique brand of humor is out of this world. now the last characters name is Brian, and he is a talking dog. everybody in the show doesn't find anything strange about the fact that Brian can talk. they just talk with him like he was a human. Brian is probably the most intelligent of the bunch, and he does an excellent imitation of snoopy, and the snoopy dance.
this really is a classic cartoon. a must watch show, but i have to warn you that it's highly addictive!!
