The Dramatic life

How many of you feel like you need to live a dramatic life?    How many of you feel like you need to pray dramatic prayer, because those are the ones, that move Father the most?  Those of you said that you feel this way, even some of the time, can you explain why. I can’t even start to explain why I would feel this way. However, I often do.

I have gained a real blessing, because of writing this blog. It has come in the form of a Sister in Christ. As far as I can tell, this woman lives a Godly life, and I rejoice to call her my friend. She has sent me certain prayers, in the past, and I think that I have shared them with the readers.

The other day she sent me a fairly large letter. I got excited at the first, as it read about more prayers. I thought this is going to be a good one, because of the length of the letter. I had already determined in my heart, that this was a prayer to be memorized, and prayed often. All of this was based, on the integrity, of this woman, and the prayers, that she had sent in the past.

I really want to share this prayer with you, and I hope that you don’t find it to be too long. "Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner."         Now, I must be honest with you. This is not what I expected. I thought that it would be a long prayer, filled with great swelling words. I can’t even tell you, why I ever thought, that it would be that way. However, I am glad that it was like this.
Actually, this prayer can be found in the book of Luke, and Jesus is telling a story.

Luke 18:13  And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

I try to teach the readers, of this blog, that it is all about the relationship. Yet, I find myself wanting to be impressive to the One, which is not impressed, by large swelling words from me. The truth is that Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit knows me better, than I really know myself!!

This might blow some of your small minds, but this is a truth. Do you realize that all of us are a product, of Father’s imaginations? I am talking about warts, freckles, and all!! There is never anything, that we can do to shock God, especially speaking words, which the only time that we use is in our prayer time.

This prayer comes as the result of two different men. One a Pharisee, who was highly religious, and who knew the law, word for word. The second man a publican. Being a Publican meant that this man had the most hated occupation, because he was a tax collector. Let’s take a look at the entire story.

10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men [are], extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

It is good for me to be surprised, or rather to be humbled every now and then. I am thinking that the reason, that I need to feel exalted when dealing with Jesus is because He is exalted. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Jesus came to this earth, taking on the form of a man. Our Creator came to walk among His creation, and show us a better way!!

Phillipians 2:5-9  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

This is showing a love, that I cannot personally even come close to understanding!! I would have simply made them in the way, where they were perfect little toys to play with, and of course when the new wore off, in the closet they go. I bet you are happy that I wasn’t God, and I am also. Can you imagine the responsibility of keeping all, of this in order? I can’t even keep my closet in order!!
Ain’t God good?    I don’t think that good is even close enough to a fitting description of God. The greatest word that my little finite mind can come up with is Awesome, and that is not even close.

Here is one more example of the humbleness of Jesus.  John 13:4-5  He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. 5  After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

               ….Much Love
