Peter Cottontail?

This is the week, that we celebrate the death, buried, and resurrection, of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We know, and realize, that something got missed up, in the keeping of records back then. There is no way, that Jesus gave His life up, on the cross on Friday, and spent three days, and nights lying dead, in that borrowed tomb, until Sunday morning. The days and the time simply, do not add up. It has to be an error, in the bookkeeping.  Regardless we still believe that, Jesus died on the cross, and arose to life, on the third day.

You might be asking the question of, “How could this get messed up?” I would have to guess the same way, that the Easter bunny came to life, on resurrection Sunday!!  How has Satan managed to turn every religious holiday, into a circus of a commercial festival?  This has to be the most important event, in the history of Christianity, because without this event, we have no Christianity.

The schematics of the time are not, all that important. The fact is that it was, and still is a reality. This is the cement, which holds all the Christian beliefs together. I am not talking to those who don’t believe today, because all of this is just pure foolishness to them.

1Corinthians 1:18  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

When Jesus stood in front of Pontius Pilate He had these words to say to him: John 18:37  Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

Here is a verse from a Roman leader over a group of one-hundred Roman soldiers had this to say about Jesus, after He had given His life on the cross. I can’t help but wonder what his role had been in the crucifixion, of our Lord.            Had he spit on Jesus, or slapped Him?   Had he laughed at Jesus, and made fun of Him?   We know that he had seen the entire process.   Do you think that he stood there silently, or joined in with the merriment, at Christ expense?

Matthew 27:54  Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

The strange thing about this verse was the scholars, and the theologians say about this man is that he didn’t know what he was saying. They say that he was a pagan, and had no knowledge of God, and therefore, could not have possibly knew, what he was saying. I personally take a lot on faith, that the Bible says, and a lot of it I have no true understanding of it.       If I share this with someone else, does it make it any less true?

Here comes Peter Cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail!!   Ain’t Satan a clever being?      Have you ever wondered how many baby rabbits, ducks, and chickens are sold every year for Easter?  Cadbury has certainly monopolized, on the Easter season, with their chocolate sales. I have always loved their chocolate eggs, but that still doesn’t have anything, to do with Easter.

It is really not hard to believe, that Jesus Christ gave His life up on a cross. As far as I know, everybody that ever suffered the cross died. It was one, of the cruelest forms of torture, resulting in death, which has ever been known to man. However, there was something different about Jesus experience, on the cross. A sinless Jesus took upon Himself the sins, of the entire world.

I would like to go back to the beginning of the book of Matthew, before the birth of Jesus. Joseph, who was the man promised to marry Mary, the mother of Jesus, was visited by an Angel in a dream. Now Joseph was hurt by Mary being found to be pregnant, and was planning on putting her away in private. The Angel revealed that, the baby was conceived, by Holy Spirit, and Mary had known no man. I have never caught this until today, but he also said this:

Matthew 1:21  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

The detail which I want to use, in the telling the true story of Easter, has gone way over the amount, that the page will hold. Maybe all week I will write, concerning resurrection week. I know for sure, unless there is a divine intervention, that I will write one more. Actually, everything that I write throughout the year is because of the events, that happened this week. If there were no death, burial and resurrection, there would be nothing worth speaking about.

If you notice in the way that I write I rarely speak of religion, and when I do speak of religion it is not in a favorable way. Religion is simply man trying to impress God. I call it a bunch of hoopla, that can send a soul to Hell. We are called into a relationship, with the One that created all things!! If folks would realize that truth it would change us, from the inside out.    Ain’t God Great?

          ….Much Love
